J’Marion Burnette brings size, burst, and upside to Houston’s backfield
In the 2025 season, J’Marion Burnette logged 28 carries for 82 yards and added a 39-yard receiving touchdown for Houston, showing he can contribute as a runner and a pass catcher. At 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, he has a power back frame with legit contact balance and red-zone utility, but his current production has been modest and he missed time after a hand injury in 2025. The appeal is upside: if you want a physical, downhill back who can handle contact and still flash receiving value, Burnette fits the mold.
