Alicia Newell is Richmond’s rising two-way guard, with elite steal production and a growing scoring punch
In the 2025-26 season, Alicia Newell emerged as a key rotation guard for Richmond, starting 31 of 32 games and averaging 7.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.9 steals in 22.3 minutes per game; her 61 steals ranked second in the Atlantic 10, which is the kind of disruptive defense coaches love. She also shot 42.7% from the field and 33.3% from three, and her 20-point, 5-of-6-from-deep breakout against Rhode Island showed real upside as a shot-maker. If you want a tough, energetic, defense-first guard with improving offensive pop, she’s a very good fit.
