Martinez entered the 2025-26 season as one of UCCS’s most important pieces after leading the Mountain Lions in scoring as a freshman in 2024-25 (14.8 points per game) and setting a new UCCS freshman assist record with 115, which helped earn him All-RMAC Honorable Mention and a spot on the preseason players-to-watch list.[8] Early 2025-26 data shows he is still handling primary creation duties, with 6 assists in 27 minutes in the opener against Denver.[1][2] His value is his pace control, playmaking, and ability to run the offense like a true point guard; if you need a guard who can organize teammates and carry real offensive responsibility, he fits.
