Savannah Lira gives Southern Utah a steady defensive anchor behind the plate
Lira projects as a value-add catcher for Southern Utah because the position demands toughness, game-calling, and trust, and her role signals she brings more than box-score stats: defensive reliability, communication, and composure under pressure. Publicly available team and NCAA stat pages do not provide enough detailed individual production to verify a standout statistical profile for 2026, so the best read is that she matters most through intangibles and catcher-specific impact rather than headline numbers. For a team looking for a calm, defense-first backstop, that is exactly the kind of profile worth tracking.
