6'6" Freshman Powerhouse with Elite Velocity and 12-K Preseason Dominance
Duncan Russell is a 6'6", 235-lb right-handed freshman for the California Golden Bears who stands out with elite 91–94 mph fastball velocity and a sharp slider, evidenced by a standout 12-K, 0-ER performance in 6 IP during pre-college showcases[3][6]. Though his 2026 season ERA sits at 13.50 over 4 IP with one loss[7], this reflects early college adjustment rather than a lack of talent; his raw stuff, intensity, and 20.25 K/9 rate in limited action signal a high-ceiling prospect[8]. He’s a fierce competitor with a confident personality, no known injury history, and a 500th national ranking as a top CA RHP[4]. If your team needs a future rotation anchor with MLB-ready velocity and room to grow, Russell is an ideal fit—just give him time to refine his command.
