Freshman RHP Garrett Grant has flashed weekend-starter stuff for FAU
In 2026, Garrett Grant emerged as Florida Atlantic’s Sunday starter and showed real swing-and-miss potential, highlighted by 7.0 shutout innings with five strikeouts against FIU and a season-opening scoreless debut vs. Notre Dame. His calling card is poise: he attacks the zone, works deep enough to matter on weekends, and has already earned conference weekly honorable mention. The tradeoff is some freshman volatility, with his ERA moving as the season progressed, but the upside is obvious for a 6-foot-4 righty who can start, compete, and give a staff innings.
