steady Aussie leg with untapped upside for Fresno State
In the 2024 season, Clay Lawrence was Fresno State’s primary punter in all 13 games, averaging 40.9 yards on 58 punts with a long of 59 and five touchbacks; he was also an Academic All-Mountain West selection. Lawrence’s calling card is consistency and field-position control, with a background in ProKick Australia and Australian Rules football giving him a polished kicking base and calm mechanics. He missed the 2025 season with injury, so the big question is health—if he’s back, he profiles as a useful, low-drama specialist who can quietly tilt games.
