True freshman Faizon Brandon has seized Tennessee’s QB1 job
Brandon is a 6-foot-4, 225-pound true freshman who won Tennessee’s starting quarterback job after arriving early, taking part in spring practice, and earning a leadership-council role—pretty wild for a first-year guy. In the 2026 season, he has already shown enough command and poise to beat out George MacIntyre, and the buzz around him is tied to his pocket passing, physical upside, and strong prep résumé, including a 35-1 high school starter record. The big reason to care: he looks like a high-ceiling fit for an offense that wants confidence, toughness, and a QB who can grow fast.
