Templeton Brings Proven Lefty Relief Value to Western Carolina
Scott Templeton is a 2026 graduate-transfer left-hander at Western Carolina with a track record of missing bats in relief: at Charleston in 2025, he logged 25.0 innings, struck out 33, posted four saves, and held opponents to a .195 average. He looks like a short-leverage, matchup-friendly arm whose appeal is the combo of experience, strikeout feel, and late-game poise rather than raw volume. The swing skill is command—his earlier Newberry stint showed some walk trouble—so he fits best with a team that can use him in targeted spots, not ask him to be a no-drama innings sponge.
