Derrick Green

Derrick Green brings veteran backcourt size, toughness, and a scorer’s edge to UMES

Derrick Green is a 6-foot-3 Maryland Eastern Shore guard whose value comes from his physicality, backcourt length, and battle-tested experience rather than flashy volume stats. In the 2018-19 season, he played 26 games and averaged 3.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game, while earlier career marks show he can contribute across multiple spots when healthy. UMES notes he missed a season because of injury, which makes durability part of the evaluation, but he has been viewed as a useful rotation guard who can help organize the backcourt and compete with intensity.
