Blake Hooks brings late-inning trust and strikeout pop to Louisiana Tech
In the 2025 season, Louisiana Tech right-hander Blake Hooks emerged as a high-leverage bullpen weapon, going 3-0 with a 2.78 ERA, 9 saves, and 46 strikeouts in 35.2 innings while limiting hitters to a .205 average[1][2]. He was named to Conference USA’s preseason All-Conference team and the preseason watchlist for national stopper honors, which tells you coaches see more than just numbers: he’s the kind of composed closer who can finish games and handle pressure without blinking[2][4]. If your team wants a proven, veteran reliever with swing-and-miss stuff and real closing experience, Hooks is absolutely worth caring about[1][2].
