Hayden Gustavson brings pop, versatility, and a steady bat to Louisiana Tech
In the 2026 season, Hayden Gustavson turned into a useful Louisiana Tech piece right away, making 21 starts in 25 appearances while hitting .215 with 3 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs, 8 RBI, and 11 walks. He also showed he can contribute in different ways, with a power boost already evident from his first Tech homer against Arkansas State and multi-hit production sprinkled in. The fit is intriguing: a 6-foot-2 junior catcher/utility bat with transfer experience, on-base patience, and enough physicality to profile as a grinder who can help a lineup in more than one spot.
