Merik Carter brings senior power, bat-to-ball pop, and steady infield value for Gardner-Webb
In the 2026 season, senior Merik Carter emerged as a lineup engine for Gardner-Webb, finishing with a team-leading 11 home runs and delivering multiple multi-hit, multi-RBI games, including a 2-for-5, 2-RBI finale and a three-hit, three-RBI explosion against Oklahoma State. He’s a 6-foot-2, 200-pound left-handed hitter who offers right-side versatility, proven extra-base thump, and enough on-base punch to change a game quickly. Beyond the box score, Carter’s value is his mature, professional profile: consistent run production, physicality, and a hitter who looks built to translate to a winning lineup.
