Derick Flowers brings veteran guard savvy, proven playmaking, and a high-IQ UCI past
Derick Flowers is a former UC Irvine guard who was once a Big West Player of the Week and, in the 2008-09 season, led the Anteaters in scoring at 14.0 points per game while earning All-Big West Second Team and Freshman Team honors. His game has long been about steadiness, feel, and distributing the ball, and he’s also shown he can hit from deep when locked in. The catch: his career shooting efficiency was streaky, so he’s the kind of guard best valued for control, poise, and experience rather than pure shot-making fireworks.
