Baylor’s hard-to-miss, hard-throwing relief arm with upside still in the works
In the 2026 season, Camden Clewett has worked mostly in relief for Baylor, posting a 17.36 ERA with 4.2 innings, 2 strikeouts, and 5 walks across five appearances, so the raw results are rough but the role is real[1][2]. What makes him intriguing is the backstory: Baylor lists him as a 5-foot-11, 221-pound right-hander, and prior scouting noted he returned from Tommy John surgery as a strike-thrower with a three-pitch mix and fastball in the 88–90 mph range[2][3]. He already showed academic discipline as a 2025 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team selection, which fits a developmental bullpen piece with room to grow[2].
