Gabe Winans brings swing-and-miss relief upside for Sam Houston
In the 2026 season, Winans was a useful right-handed arm for Sam Houston, working in 20 appearances and finishing 2-0 with a save, 42 strikeouts in 33.1 innings, and a .248 opponent average allowed. His biggest differentiator is bat-missing stuff—he recorded 3+ strikeouts in seven outings and even closed out a 2026 CUSA Tournament comeback win with four strikeouts in 2.0 innings. That profile suggests a high-intensity, dependable bullpen fit if you want a reliever who can handle leverage and miss bats.
