Sofia Mujica brings real pop and clutch-bat energy to UCLA
In the 2026 season, Sofia Mujica is already showing why UCLA trusted her behind the plate and in the lineup: she’s a right-handed catcher/designated player who homered in each of her first two at-bats and delivered a second multi-homer game early in the year.[2][15] In her freshman 2025 season, she hit .212 with 9 home runs, 36 RBIs, 2 grand slams, and a UCLA single-game RBI record-tying 8 RBIs, while also serving as the Bruins’ top pinch-hitting weapon.[2] Her value goes beyond the box score—she’s been described as a top-ranked catcher with serious power, a strong arm, and a fierce competitive edge, making her a fit for teams that want a bat-first backstop who can change a game in one swing.[3][11]
