Cole Wells is giving Morehead State real swingman value in 2026
In the 2026 season, freshman right-hander Cole Wells has flashed starter-and-reliever flexibility for Morehead State, highlighted by a four-inning win over Butler, a 4.2-inning shutout start against Ohio, and his first career save at Tennessee Tech.[1][2][3] The 6'1" Lynchburg-Clay product arrived with eye-popping high-school numbers—6-0, 0.84 ERA, 107 strikeouts in 58.2 innings—and the early read is simple: he competes, misses bats, and can handle leverage, though he’s also had a few rough outings that suggest his command and consistency are still developing.[9][11][12]
