Tristan Phillips brings a physical, high-upside linebacker profile to Oregon
Tristan Phillips is a 2026 freshman linebacker for Oregon who arrives with a reputation for violence in the run game, good athletic range, and a high motor that coaches love. In his senior season at Ventura High School in 2025, he reportedly posted 127 tackles, 11 sacks, two blocked field goals, and an interception, which helps explain why Oregon staff compared his mentality to Bryce Boettcher. He looks like the kind of under-the-radar, downhill defender who can earn early reps if he keeps adding size and keeps flying around like he means it.
