Versatile Gaels UTL with Untapped Upside
In his **2026 freshman season** at Saint Mary’s, John Petrie has seen limited action so far, appearing in **two games** with **two at-bats**, so his college sample is still small. What makes him interesting is his profile as a **6-foot-2, 205-pound** multi-position athlete who came out of Huntington Beach with the ability to play **1B, 3B, OF** and even pitch, giving a coaching staff lineup and defensive flexibility. His current production is modest, but the fit is about **development, versatility, and physical upside** more than instant stat-stuffing.
