Monmouth’s 6-11 rim-protecting big with proven shot-blocking instincts
In his most recent available Monmouth seasons, Sam Ibiezugbe was a low-usage center whose value came from defense, especially rim protection and activity around the basket: he logged 3.0 blocks per game in the 2020 season and 8.2 blocks per game in the 2017 season, while scoring remained limited at 1.2 points per game in both seasons. He’s the kind of depth big who can change a possession with length, size, and timing rather than touches, but the offense is clearly a secondary skill. If you need a paint anchor and energy defender, he fits; if you need frontcourt scoring, he’s not that guy.
