Jack Nelson gives Arkansas State a durable, strikeout-leaning lefty with weekend-starter upside
In the 2025 season, Jack Nelson posted a 3.86 ERA with a team-leading 57 strikeouts in 49 innings, and in 2026 he has remained a key weekend arm for Arkansas State, working as a left-handed starter with a power mix that reportedly sits 88-90 mph and includes a cutter and splitter. He stands out for his ability to miss bats, handle volume, and keep hitters uncomfortable, while his 6-foot-4 frame and repeat role suggest real trust from the staff. If your team wants a tough, experienced southpaw who can compete on Saturdays, he looks like a fit.
