Chris Cavalcante is giving Old Dominion a live right-handed arm with strikeout punch
In the 2026 season, Cavalcante has already shown he can come in cold and miss bats, including a side-wiping strikeout burst in relief and a win over Richmond after holding hitters to one run across two innings. His profile says “competitive, not cute”: a freshman RHP with enough composure to handle leverage, the kind of arm ODU can trust in tight midweek and bullpen innings. If your team wants a strike-throwing, attacks-the-zone reliever with early poise and upside, he’s a fit.
