JP Pickles brings dual-threat spark and preseason buzz to Mercer
In the 2025 season, JP Pickles was a low-volume but efficient Mercer quarterback, completing 5 of 8 passes for 61 yards while adding 86 rushing yards on 26 carries, and Mercer’s 2026 spring game and preseason scrimmage showed him making splash plays as a run-and-pass threat, including a 55-yard touchdown in the spring game and a 76-yard strike in scrimmage. He looks like a fit for a team that values mobility, toughness, and an adaptable QB room more than polished volume production.
