Burton Rawlings brings live arm upside and college-ready strikeout potential to Gardner-Webb’s bullpen
Rawlings is a junior right-handed pitcher for Gardner-Webb with a compact 6'0", 175-pound frame and a clear power-pitcher profile, highlighted by a 2.70 ERA across 10.0 innings in 2024 Appalachian League action with Kingsport.[1][3][9] Prep Baseball Report’s metrics show real arm talent, including an 84.9 max exit velocity and a 67.7 max bat speed from his high school profile, while Perfect Game listed him as a 2022 commit with two-way athletic upside.[5][6] For a staff needing a strike-throwing RHP with development room and some pro-style indicators, he looks like a meaningful fit rather than just a depth arm.[1][3][5]
