Max Tripure gives Western Illinois a dependable Friday-night arm
In the 2026 season, Max Tripure emerged as a durable, zone-attacking right-hander for Western Illinois, with the Leathernecks describing him as an experienced weekend option whose consistency and innings-eating ability stabilize the rotation.[8] He was also recognized by the OVC in March 2026 after allowing just one run over 6.2 innings with seven strikeouts and one walk, a nice snapshot of his “challenge-you-to-hit-it” profile.[15] The upside is a pitcher who brings toughness, feel for multiple pitches, and starter’s reliability; the question for any team is whether his command-driven style fits a staff that values steadiness over pure velocity.
