Ja’Marion Wayne looks like a preseason-leaderboard defender for Coastal Carolina
In the 2025 season, Ja’Marion Wayne started all 12 games at cornerback and produced 61 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception, two forced fumbles, seven pass breakups, and a blocked field goal, which is why he earned 2026 preseason All-Sun Belt recognition and a spot on the East-West Bowl watch list[1][2]. At 6-foot-2 and about 207-210 pounds, he brings rare physicality for a CB, plays with a linebacker’s willingness to tackle, and gives Coastal Carolina a disruptive, high-motor tone-setter who fits a defense needing run support and matchup toughness[1][2].
