Antonio Ross Jr. brings prototype size and a proven mauler’s résumé to SIU
Ross is a 6-foot-6, 315-pound redshirt freshman offensive lineman who arrives at Southern Illinois after redshirting at Jackson State in 2024, giving him development time before entering the lineup conversation. SIU’s roster notes say he was a first-team all-league lineman at Hartfield Academy, was recognized twice as the best offensive lineman in 6A, and set a single-season pancake record with 156, which points to a physical, finish-the-play style. He also carried a 3.5 GPA in high school, a useful sign of discipline and coachability for a team looking for long-term line help.[4]
