seasoned right-hander with a comeback edge for Rice
In the 2025 season, Robert Fernandez went 0-4 with a 3.86 ERA in nine appearances (five starts) for Rice, and he also showed real resilience by returning from an injury suffered on April 13, 2024, to throw six scoreless innings in a career-best outing against Michigan on February 15, 2025. The big takeaway: he’s a sturdy 6-foot, 214-pound graduate student with starting-pitcher build, strike-throwing ability, and a gritty, bounce-back mentality—exactly the kind of experienced arm that can stabilize a staff when healthy.
