Brayton Thomas is a big lefty with swing-and-miss upside and a starter’s frame
In the 2026 season, Indiana LHP Brayton Thomas flashed real rotation value: he opened with a 5.0-inning, one-hit effort at UCF, later carved up Purdue with 5.1 scoreless innings, and showed he can miss bats while working deep enough to matter. At 6-foot-5 and 232 pounds, he brings a heavy, physical look and a fastball/offspeed mix that has drawn praise for its power and toughness; the caveat is inconsistency, with some outings showing command lapses and homer damage. He looks like a fit if you want size, strikeout potential, and upside with some volatility.
