Andrew Vega brings a compact freshman bat and strong on-base signs to SJSU
Andrew Vega enters the 2026 season as a freshman outfielder for San José State, and the early profile is encouraging: he posted a .333 batting average with a .443 on-base percentage as a senior at Newbury Park High and earned a Perfect Game grade of 8.5[1]. That combination suggests a hitter who already understands how to get on base, with enough contact skill and polish to fit a team looking for a steady, high-effort corner or center-field type rather than a pure power gamble[1][3].
