Brooks Byers brings veteran relief work and strikeout punch to the Privateers
In the 2025 season, Brooks Byers was a dependable bullpen arm for New Orleans, striking out 13 batters in 9.2 innings over 7 relief appearances, and he also posted 5 strikeouts against Florida State in a tough weekend test. He looks like a classic high-leverage fit: older, battle-tested, and able to miss bats when the pressure rises. The read on him is pretty simple—if you want a pitcher who can attack hitters and handle real competition without blinking, Byers has the profile.
