Jonavon Darrington brings two-way athletic pop to Fresno State’s DB room
Darrington enters Fresno State as a redshirt freshman with legit versatility: in his 2024 high school season at Clovis West, he posted 24 tackles and five pass breakups on defense, while also adding 58 catches for 719 yards and nine touchdowns plus 321 kick-return yards. The appeal is obvious — twitchy athlete, ball skills, and return-game juice — and he also comes from a three-sport background, which usually hints at real movement upside. He’s still early in his college climb, but the profile screams developmental playmaker if the Bulldogs want speed, competitiveness, and special-teams value.
