Owen Gietzen is an emerging two-way value for Arkansas-Pine Bluff
In the 2026 season, the 6'0" freshman catcher has shown early offensive impact, including a 2-for-3 game with a double, RBI, and stolen base in UAPB’s SWAC-opening win, and he is batting .250 with a .677 OPS in the team stat line provided. His differentiator is not just contact, but usable athleticism for a catcher—he can run a little, impact the bases, and add matchup flexibility. For a team, he looks like a high-motor, developing catcher who brings energy, versatility, and upside rather than a finished product.
