Big East strikeout king and workhorse lefty
West emerged in 2026 as UConn’s Friday-night ace, earning First Team All-BIG EAST after leading the conference with 111 strikeouts in 87.1 innings and logging eight quality starts. The left-hander’s calling card is swing-and-miss stuff paired with enough command to work deep into games, highlighted by a season-high 14 strikeouts against Butler and multiple scoreless outings. He’s a strong fit for teams wanting a competitive, durable starter who can miss bats and handle a heavy workload.
