NFL Bloodlines Powering D2 Punting Prodigy from URI
Sophomore punter Devin Walter transferred to Valdosta State after anchoring Rhode Island's 11-3 FCS playoff run in 2024, where he punted 57 times for 37.4 yards avg, pinning 22 inside the 20 and booming four 50+ yarders including a 51-long.[1][3] Son of NFL punter Ken Walter—who held for Adam Vinatieri's iconic Super Bowl and Tuck Rule kicks—this 6'0", 195-lb Concord, NC native brings elite pedigree, consistency as a true freshman (47 punts, 38.9 avg, 58 long), and clutch directional pinning that flips field position.[3][4] No injury red flags, battle-tested intensity—prime fit for teams needing a reliable, high-upside leg with pro DNA.[4]
