Rod Gibbs is South Alabama’s steady, blocking-first TE with just enough receiving pop to matter
In the 2025 season, Rod Gibbs played in all 12 games for South Alabama and caught 6 passes for 52 yards and a touchdown, including a season-best 15-yard grab against Southern Miss and a TD at North Texas. He’s a 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end whose calling card is doing the dirty work as a blocking TE, but he showed enough hands and red-zone usefulness to force defenses to respect him. For a team, he fits best as a dependable inline tight end who raises the floor, not just the fantasy scoreboard.
