Cal’s JJ Hollis brings a big-frame, power-arm look to the mound
JJ Hollis is a 6-foot-4, 225-pound right-hander for California with a sturdy starter’s build and a promising power profile, and he’s already shown enough strike-throwing flashes to earn real innings for the Golden Bears. In the 2025 season, he posted a 0-1 record with a 6.28 ERA in 14.1 innings, with 9 strikeouts and a career-high 3.0-inning outing against Boston College, while his 2026 Cal roster listing still highlights him as a live arm to watch. He feels like a fit for teams betting on size, toughness, and developmental upside rather than immediate polish.
