6-5 wing Jacopo Van der Knaap brings proven scoring and perimeter shooting to Hawai‘i
Van der Knaap arrives at Hawai‘i as a polished international guard who averaged 13.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 25 games last season, including four straight 20-point outings and 17 games with double figures. His biggest differentiator is shot-making: he’s described as an accurate deep shooter and one of his own strengths is outside shooting, which should translate well in a spacing-dependent system. At 6-foot-5 with four years of eligibility, he offers size, scoring pop, and upside for a rotation that needs instant offense and a reliable perimeter threat.
