Versatile Bearkats bat with room to grow
Demmer enters 2026 as a junior utility piece for Sam Houston, and his value is less about loud numbers than roster flexibility and grit. In the 2025 season, he hit .103 with a .333 OBP across 14 games, then flashed a better .167 average in limited 2026 action, suggesting a player still fighting to lock down consistent at-bats[1][2]. He’s a right-handed, 6-foot, 200-pound Tomball product whose appeal is fit: multi-positional cover, steady work ethic, and the kind of bench-to-lineup adaptability coaches love when the injuries start piling up[2].
