High-Intensity RHP with Elite Bat-Missing Skills for Saint Mary's Gaels
Luis Martin Romero, a junior right-handed pitcher for Saint Mary's Gaels, stands out for his elite bat-missing ability, having recorded 67 strikeouts in 17 games during the 2025 season with a 3.98 ERA. His differentiator is his relentless intensity and 'three-up-three-down' efficiency in high-pressure moments, as seen in the 2026 matchup against SJSU where he secured critical outs to push the game to the 10th inning. While his 2026 ERA rose to 6.18, his underlying WHIP of 1.92 and 2-3 record reflect a pitcher still refining consistency after a strong sophomore year. Romero's personality is defined by grit and a high school résumé boasting 68 strikeouts, making him a high-fit prospect for teams needing a resilient, strikeout-heavy arm who thrives under pressure, despite a recent ERA spike that suggests room for growth in pitch selection.
