SIUE freshman Mia Volpert brings proven strikeout stuff and a winner’s resume in the circle
Volpert enters SIUE after a decorated Springfield HS career and an immediate college impact, with the Cougars noting she ranked second on the team in 2026 ERA (3.82) and wins (7) while appearing in 30 games and logging 95 1/3 innings. Her profile suggests a pitch-to-contact-to-miss blend: she’s been described as having “tons of movement,” sat in the low-to-mid 60s on the radar, and has repeatedly delivered in high-pressure moments, including a complete-game world-title outing in youth play. She also brings elite endurance and competitiveness from cross country, making her a good fit for teams valuing toughness, control, and big-game poise.
