Marco Lopez brings compact, gritty catching value for Gardner-Webb
Marco Lopez is a junior catcher for Gardner-Webb in 2026, listed at 5'8", 185 lbs, and right-handed, with current season production around .200/.333/.200 in limited at-bats and 1 RBI. The numbers are modest, but the fit is clearer than the stat line: he offers a tough, compact profile behind the plate, right-handed bat, and the kind of low-profile, high-effort catching build coaches like when they want reliability, game-calling, and steady bench value. If your team needs a loud bat, look elsewhere; if you want a scrappy catcher who can grind, Lopez has a case.
