Joseph Hiller flashed rookie value for Quinnipiac with strikeout stuff and a big-game rebound
In the 2026 season, Joseph Hiller gave Quinnipiac a useful first-year right-hander look: 10 appearances, 3 starts, 17.2 innings, 20 strikeouts, and a MAAC Rookie of the Week nod after a strong 4.0-inning, 5-strikeout outing against UConn. He’s a compact 5-foot-11 pitcher from Center Moriches, N.Y., and the eye test says his best trait is competitive feel—he kept battling even after a few rough lines, including a 4.0-inning, 1-run start against Brown and a 3.2-inning, 4-run outing versus Mount St. Mary’s. For a team needing upside, he looks like a strike-throwing developmental arm with real swing-and-miss potential.
