Mikiah Negrete is emerging as Cal State Fullerton’s ace with back-to-back statement outings
Negrete has been one of the Big West’s hottest left-handers in 2026, highlighted by a complete-game shutout with 11 strikeouts against Hawai'i and a one-run complete game in an upset of No. 6 Oregon State. He’s a durable, attack-the-zone starter who can work deep into games and miss bats, which is a big plus for any rotation. His recent recognition as Big West Pitcher of the Week underscores that this is real momentum, not just one flash outing, and his profile fits a team looking for competitive, high-end starting pitching.
