Luke Lawrence is Kentucky’s do-everything infield engine
In the 2026 season, Kentucky infielder Luke Lawrence has been a steady, high-impact bat and a glue-guy defender, batting .352 with a .951 OPS, 51 hits, 36 runs, 26 RBI and 13 stolen bases while moving around second base, shortstop and third base when the Wildcats needed it most.[3][12][14] He was named a Brooks Wallace Award semifinalist, a strong signal that evaluators value his two-way production, versatility and toughness; even after a knee scare in the NCAA regional, reports said he was pushing to play because he brings real competitive edge.[3][15]
