Jayme Motley-Simmons brings rare size and veteran bounce to Akron’s offensive line
At 6-foot-7 and 310 pounds, the redshirt senior left tackle is a big-bodied, experienced transfer with reps at UAB, Samford, North Alabama, and Akron, giving the Zips a plug-and-play frame and plenty of game mileage for 2026. He was a 247Sports three-star recruit out of Thompson High School and has shown durability by appearing in 12 games in 2024 at North Alabama after logging 20 games across three seasons at Samford. If you want length, experience, and a seasoned swing tackle/left tackle option, he’s a strong fit; the big question is how quickly that size turns into consistent edge protection.
