Griffin Stieg is Virginia Tech’s power arm with swing-and-miss upside
Stieg has shown starter-level upside for Virginia Tech, highlighted by a six-inning, seven-strikeout performance in the 2026 win at No. 14 Virginia, and his 6'4", 220-pound frame gives him the look of a durable right-hander who can hold velocity deep into games. His appeal is the combination of strikeout ability and mound presence, but the fuller picture matters: his 2026 numbers have been uneven overall, so he profiles more as a high-upside arm than a finished product. If your team wants a pitcher who can miss bats and handle big-game moments, he’s worth the fit check.
