Jake Merrick brings a compact, efficient bat and early run-production value for UAB
In the 2025 season, UAB freshman INF Jake Merrick appeared in 11 games with seven starts and hit .259 with a .382 OBP, eight RBI, and two multi-hit games, showing an advanced feel for contact and getting on base early in his college career.[1][2] At 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds, he looks like a sturdy right-handed infielder who can contribute in a role that values consistency, situational hitting, and steady at-bats more than loud tools right now.[1][2]
