Adaora Onwumelu gives Charleston a rugged, rebounding-first frontcourt presence
Onwumelu is a 6-foot-2 forward who has shown she can carve out a real role for Charleston with physical play, board work, and shot-blocking flashes. In the 2023-24 season, she started five games, averaging 2.5 points and 3.8 rebounds, and her earlier Charleston season showed more punch as a versatile rebounder with 5.6 points and 6.3 rebounds in 2022-23. She looks like the kind of glue player coaches trust: tough, experienced, and willing to do the dirty work even when the box score stays modest.
